John Lauder Davies works almost exclusively in watercolour, bringing to the medium a vibrancy and saturation of colour not usually associated with the format. His works explore movement and light in an abstract, almost Futurist manner. His formative studies in painitng were made in Cheltenham, England, graduating in the late 1970's.
Major mentors include the painter and printer Harold ''George'' Sayer, Hermann Gross the sculptor and painter and the Scottish colourist Kenneth Lauder.
